Printer Offline Problem


HP 3630 Printer Offline

Apple Mac users can make use of the below mentioned instructions to solve their HP 3630 Printer offline problem or printer not responding message.

This message of ‘Printer Offline’ message depicts the status of the printer while the message ‘Printer not responding’ displays when people attempt to print. The offline message says that the Mac device cannot communicate with your HP printer. The offline message will display when the USB cable connection is disconnected or when the printer is switched off.

STEP 1:

Check whether the connection between the HP DJ3630 Printer and the Mac (connectivity) is proper.

As said before, this message is displayed only when your Mac device cannot communicate with the printer. Choose the type of connection you want and follow the instructions to make sure that the connection is working.

First and foremost, disconnect the USB cable and then reconnect I to the Mac device. Click on the Power button to switch of the printer and then wait for few seconds. Now, disconnect the USB cable from the backside of the printer. Now, press the power button again to switch on the printer. The printer will make some noise and will start printing the pages. Wait till the printer finishes printing before continuing.  Reconnect the USB cable to the printer after five seconds. The connection should be secure and shouldn’t have loose connection. Try printing again to see if the printer is working fine.

STEP 2:

Reset the printer

Resetting the printer will force the device to reset the values that were set in the firmware. When the communication between the Mac and printer is not proper, you can opt for power reset.

Before continuing, ensure that the printer is idle and not making any sounds. When the printer is switched on, disconnect the power cord from the backside of the printer. Now, unplug the power cord from the wall socket and wait for a minute. Plug in the power cord again to the wall outlet and the other end of it to the backside of the printer. If your printer does not switch on on its own, the press the Power button to switch it on. Give a print job and then notice what is happening with the printer. If the printer starts printing, then you can stop troubleshooting it. Otherwise continue to the next step.

STEP 3:

Remove multiple printers from the printer’s list

Search the Mac for Print option and then click either Print & Fax or Print & Scan or Print & Scanners in the list of options available. Now, you will find a set of printer names that will match your printer from the list of devices displayed on screen. If there is multiple printer queues for the same printer, then remove it by selecting it one by one. Leave only one printer in the list and make it your Default printer and try printing again.

Search the Mac for Print option and then click either Print & Fax or Print & Scan or Print & Scanners in the list of options available. Now, you will find a set of printer names that will match your printer from the list of devices displayed on screen. If there is multiple printer queues for the same printer, then remove it by selecting it one by one. Leave only one printer in the list and make it your Default printer and try printing again.

STEP 4:

Delete the existing print queue and add the printer

Ensure that your Mac device is connected to the Internet connection. Go to the Printers list and then click on your HP printer. Now, click the printer name to delete and then tap on the Minus (-) button to delete it from the queue. Click on Add button and then choose the name of the printer you want to use and then select the Add option. Choose Print Using or Use and then select the name of the printer you want. Now, your new printer queue will display the printer in the list in an idle status. Finally, try printing again.

STEP 5:

Reset the printing system

Right click on a blank space in the printer’s list and then choose Reset printing system. On the confirmation window, click on Reset option.  Enter the username and password and then click OK. Wait till the reset process is complete and there should be no devices in the Printers list. Try adding your HP DJ3630 printer to the list again as you did in the previous step and try printing again.
